CSG celebrates its 30th anniversary with the establishment of a foundation
The industrial and technology group CSG is celebrating its milestone 30th anniversary this year. It has been 30 years since the founding of Excalibur Army, which became the core around which the holding structure gradually developed. Today, this structure consists of over one hundred companies and employs 14,000 people across Asia, Europe, and the USA. As part of the 30th-anniversary celebrations, CSG has established the CSG Foundation, to which the parent corporation is donating €1.2 million (CZK 30 million) in its first year of operation. The foundation’s launch was announced by CSG on March 4 at a press conference, where the Vice Chairman of the Board, David Chour, symbolically handed over a CZK 30 million check to the foundation.

"Responsibility, courage, and long-term vision – these are the values that define not only our business but also our commitment to society. We believe that a truly strong company is not only successful in the market but also contributes to the prosperity of its surroundings. The CSG Foundation is a natural continuation of this philosophy – we invest in people, support communities, and contribute to a future we can be proud of," says David Chour, Vice Chairman of the Board of CSG and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the CSG Foundation.
CSG expects the foundation's budget to gradually increase. "The amount of €1.2 million (CZK 30 million) naturally reflects our 30th anniversary, but it was also set with the intention that the newly established foundation would be able to utilize it effectively in its first year of existence. The foundation's activities will expand in the future, not only financially but also geographically, given that CSG has manufacturing enterprises in several European countries and the USA."
The Executive Director of the CSG Foundation is Kateřina Petko, who also serves as the Director of Communication and Marketing for the CSG Group. She explains the mission and structure of the foundation: "The CSG Foundation focuses on specific areas where we can create real value. We support our employees in difficult situations, assist firefighters and emergency services, and invest in education and talent development. Our activities are a combination of responsibility and strategic planning – we aim not only to provide help but also to create positive and lasting change."
The CSG Foundation has also welcomed Adam Valenta, an experienced CSR manager from the nonprofit sector, who previously worked at Adecco Group and Bakala Foundation. He announces the foundation’s first grant call: "This year, we have allocated €480,000 (CZK 12 million) to support volunteer firefighters. The exact conditions for grant applications are available on the foundation’s website. Applications for firefighting equipment, technology, or events can be submitted starting March 17 through the foundation’s website."
In addition to launching the foundation, CSG is also prepared to support selected CSR projects directly in 2025, allocating additional financial resources for this purpose. "For example, in 2024, the owner of the group personally decided to donate 11 Tatra vehicles to Czech firefighters to assist with post-flood recovery efforts. The total value of the donation exceeded €4 million (CZK 100 million). Such extraordinary projects cannot be ruled out in the future, but the intention is to gradually centralize CSR support within the CSG Foundation," emphasizes David Chour.
